Oven Death Walmart: 19-Year-Old Found Dead in Walmart Bakery Oven, Heartbreaking Discovery Made by Mother.
Tragic Incident at Walmart:
A 19-year-old employee at a Walmart in Halifax, Nova Scotia, was found dead in a walk-in oven, leading to a deep sense of grief in the community. Gursimran Kaur, who had worked at the store alongside her mother for two years, was discovered on October 19 after her mother, having searched for her for about an hour, opened the oven door.
The Halifax Regional Police confirmed that Kaur’s body was located in the bakery section of the store at 6990 Mumford Road. A fundraiser organized by the Maritime Sikh Society highlights the immense pain Kaur’s family is facing, particularly her mother, who was frantic after being unable to contact her daughter by phone. The incident has left many in the community in shock and mourning.
Authorities have not yet determined the specific cause or circumstances surrounding Kaur’s death. An investigation is underway, involving both local police and the Nova Scotia Department of Labour, Skills, and Immigration. As a precaution, the department has issued a stop-work order for the bakery area and certain bakery equipment. Walmart Canada has also temporarily closed the store and is providing support to staff members during this difficult time.
A GoFundMe campaign launched by the Maritime Sikh Society has successfully raised more than $75,000 CAD to assist Kaur’s family. The funds will be used to cover funeral expenses and to facilitate the travel of her father and brother, who is currently in India, to Canada for the final rites.
